Snacks Which Cause Fat

Many of your favorite snacks can be the reason the ever anticipated summer body has yet to emerge. Mentioned in previous posts, nutrition labels are not as truthful as once expected, they hide true numbers and give false numbers to when someone is eating. Many of the foods, drinks, and even supplements on the fat causing list are ones you would least expect!

The first on the list is a Slim Fast drink mix. The fact that this drink has sugar as its first ingredient explains why they are served in such small portions which generally do not fill anybody up. These tricky drinks are the reason consumers over indulge in these snacks and drinks, they are un-filling and do not provide the right nutritional ingredients.

The second supposedly nutritious or healthy food is Weight Watchers chocolate chip cookies. Their first ingredient is enriched wheat flour, and the second ingredient is sugar, this so called healthy product is anything but healthy. If anything, having normal cookies in the right portion can have the same effect as having these cookies.

Also making this list of unhealthy products is the Special K candy bars which contain sugar and partially hydrogenated oil as their first two ingredients. These ingredients are accompanied by the third ugly ingredient of high fructose corn syrup. All of the ingredients and nutritional facts can be very closely compared to a Snickers bar. You take a pick on which one sounds more enticing. And for many, picking up the Snickers bar is the more appealing choice.

The scariest of these foods is the Atkins Advantage chocolate peanut butter bar. This small bar which most likely will not satisfy hunger contains 6g of saturated fats and 12g overall. They also have just around 250 calories which does not make this bar advantageous in any way.

It is important to always read ingredients and facts closely, but also understand that portion sizes need to be accounted for when purchasing and eating snacks throughout the day.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Another Carb-Cutting Solution

If you look online, you will find a variety of people preaching that you have to stay away from carbs at all costs if you want to shed belly fat. This simply is not the case. Researchers have searched for and discovered several things that can help you along the way.

Malt vinegarA variety of studies have examined how apple cider vinegar impacts insulin and blood sugar management. One of these studies demonstrated that 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar can bring about a 20% decrease in blood sugar levels if consumed after a carb-heavy meal.

Other research has found that participants of the study experienced nearly a 5% decrease in morning fasting blood sugar levels after consuming 2 tablespoons prior to sleeping the night before.

You may be wondering if apple cider vinegar has any effect on fat loss. Thus far there has been a single study conducted on the subject. Japanese researchers examined more than 150 participants who were split in to two groups. Some consumed apple cider vinegar while others simply consumed water every day for three months. After the conclusion of these three months, researchers discovered that apple cider vinegar group lost one to two pounds, on average, while the H20 group experienced zero weight loss. Additionally, it should be noted that the apple cider vinegar group gained this weight back after the study ended.

Josh Bezoni points out while it’s not necessarily ineffective, there are more effective ways to fight belly flat other than consuming two table spoons of apple cider vinegar each day for a 12 week period. If you are searching for a truly effective carb fighting behavior you are in luck. Josh Bezoni and Joel Marion have found a “ritual” that increases burning of fat, lesses fat storage, increases insulin sensitivity, and lowers one’s blood sugar. Perhaps the best part about this is that is a vinegar-free solution. Try it out and see if it works for you!

Do Not Avoid White Food

According to Josh Bezoni, he once encountered a registered nutritionist who swore by the “no white foods rule.” While some white foods, especially those that are processed such as bread, crackers, and pasta, leave a lot to be desired from the perspective of a nutritionist, there a plenty of options that are quite healthy!

It is certifiably crazy to ban outright such items as bananas or potatoes merely because they are white. Each are fully natural, and are packed with important nutrients such as potassium. They could be a good food to begin the day with, or even refuel after an exhaustive workout. Knowledge is key here, folks, particularly if you want to achieve your health goals.

Bezoni mentions loads of other foods that are white that can help burn belly flab and fuel one’s metabolism. Turnips, parsnips, onions, cauliflower, mushrooms, and garlic are all vegetables that are very healthy. Each is packed with an array of minerals, vitamins, and minerals. You shouldn’t be avoiding these foods. In fact, you should be seeking them out!

soak-the-beans - bezoniWhite beans, which are very low glycemic and boast loads of protein, are also a great option.

Even certain organic dairy products are good for you. Cottage cheese and milk both bring a lot of protein to the table, and yogurt carries the benefits probiotics.

While you may not instantly think of seeds with the mention of white food, many are, in fact, white. Chia seeds and pumpkins sees are packed with protein, fiber, and omega-3s.

Last, but certainly not least, are fish. There is a wide variety of white fish, and by and large they represent some of the healthiest eating choices you can make. For the most part, they are packed with tons of protein and taste great.

It’s almost sad that so many people have this misconception regarding white food. As highlighted above, there is a plethora of white foods that are quite good for you.

Top 5 Fat Loss Commandments

Here are the ten tips to follow when looking to lose weight, other wise known as the 5 weight loss commandments!

1. Develop a vision, not a goal

Wanting to know what your goal is is much more difficult to accomplish than actually visualizing and understanding what you actually want your body to look like. It is important to visualize opposed to just dream.

2. You don’t have to do any radical dieting to lose fat fast

Starving your body does not work, when you are hungry and are on a binge diet the body tends to eat at muscles rather than fat because of the proteins and positive food source they provide. It is important to stay on a normal diet which does not put the body into overdrive causing it to feed at the muscles.

3. Scare your fat away. Intensity matters. Step up!

Fat loss is all about shocking your body. By alternating intensities, changing up your exercise regularly, adding fiber to your diet, changing up the protein sources in your food, and working opposite sides of your body back and forth, you’re sure to burn fat at absurd speeds. Getting into the same routine can cause the body to get used to any particular work out making it null and void after a few training sessions.

4. Pain isn’t necessary to get in shape

Working out should not give you intense pain, maybe a few sore muscles, but nothing which is permanent should come from working out. If this is the case, change up the work outs and make it something which is manageable and will not leave you in pain for days.

5. Your body is your body

Push your body to limits only you understand, this means work out wise, and also diet wise. Do not force anything which you know the body will reject. This can have an adverse affect and ruin the vision you have for healthy weight loss.

Two Cellulite Solutions Exposed (Part Two)

Last week featured a blog focusing on cellulite. Namely, what it is and an exposé regarding the ineffective treatments that are out there. Liposuction and Mesotherapy were the treatments discussed last week. Let’s take a look at a few more sham treatments that are sadly all too common across this nation.

  1. A number of Cellulite Creams: There are an endless amount of creams on sale that are marketed as a cure for cellulite. However, academic studies have found no evidence corroborating their efficacy. Simple logic can tell you that slathering cream on one’s skin will most likely not cause tangible differences inside of your body. These cellulite creams are absorbed merely by the uppermost layer, and do not penetrate to deeper layers where cellulite actually sits. Functionally, our skin is here to prevent exactly this. That is not allowing foreign substances to soak into our bodies. Josh compares cellulite creams to rubbing food on your stomach in hopes that it will satisfy your appetite. It simply does not work, as logic and scientific research has shown. However, there are a few on the market that may actually work. Those that contain the ingredients theophylline and caffeine have seen some widespread success.
  2. Lipodissolve: Injection lipolysis, which is also referred to as Lipodissolve injections, involves the injection of a cocktail of enzymes, vitamins, and phoosphadatidylcholine being injected into fat pockets with the hope of breaking the cellulite part. However as with the case with Mesotheraphy and the other treatments on this list, there is no scientific evidence backing this procedure up. The typical recommendation is to undergo two to four treatments each week for as long as two months. This could mean as many as thirty-two treatments in all. Unsurprisingly, this can be exorbitantly expensive as well as quite uncomfortable. Side effects that are common include, but are not limited to, pain, bruising, itchiness, and minor burning sensation.

Two Cellulite Solutions Exposed (Part one)

Men and women will sometimes do anything to get rid of their unwanted cellulite. Unfortunately, there are a number of scams that are all too common that simply don’t work. Before thoroughly examining this topic, we must first look at what cellulite actually is. You can simply think about Cellulite as a fat pocket that comes into existence when connect tissues that sit under your skin don’t hold in the fat. This causes the fat to poke out and appear like dimples you may find on a golf ball. it is no different than normal fat in composition, but simply has a different appearance. It generally can be found in places where skins is quite thin such as the legs, buttocks, and thighs, especially for women. Cellulite is found at a much higher rate than in their male counterparts due to the presence of estrogen, and the propensity to have thinner skin. Now, let’s dive in deep and take a look at a few products and items that fail to deliver real tangible results.

1. Liposuction: For whatever reason, millions of people whole-heartedly believe that liposuction is an end-all be-all cure to cellulite. However, this is far from the truth as liposuction can actually exacerbate the situation. Imagine that! Not only does is it ineffective, but it actually could work against you in achieving your goals. This is because liposuction removes the deep-down fat, while cellulite sits much closer to the surface. Furthermore, liposuction can take a bite out of your wallet and carries an inherent risk factor as it is a medical procedure.

2. Mesotherapy: First developed across the pond in Europe, this treatment for cellulite includes a series of injections that target tiny pockets of cellulite. The issue here is there simply isn’t any academic nor scientific evidence that supports the efficacy of this procedure. Another issues that these injections may cause some negative side effects. So be wary!

5 Cheap Foods That Fight Flab

There are ways to lose the annoying flab without breaking the bank. Many people believe it is impossible without shopping only for outrageously expensive organic goods or hiring a personal trainer. Until now, here are some foods which are inexpensive, yet can help burn that stubborn flab!

1. Oatmeal

Packed with fiber and whole-grain goodness, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure to avoid the processed, high-sugar junk out there and stick to slow-cook oats. No need for the high sugar oatmeals, you could be better off eating a high carb bagel instead.

2. Eggs

Filled with vitamins B6, B12, A, D, E, and K, folate, choline, lutein, calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids. Eggs are a no brainer when it comes to eating healthy, and getting them a dozen at a time for around $4 makes them even more enticing.

3. Beans

Black beans, navy beans, refried beans, and lima beans all have 6 or more grams of fiber per ½ cup. Fiber helps the body get rid of unwanted toxins. They go well with a great deal of foods and can provide great health measures later down the line.

4. Veggies

Certain vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, kale, and cabbage contain special vitamins which fight belly fat, for many people, their biggest concern. A serving of these daily can go a long way.

5. Avocados

They are a great way to also get rid of belly fat, as well as coming at a very low cost. Being able to consume avocados as often as possible is a great way to stay healthy.

4 Household Items That Cause Flab

Obesogens. They are endocrine disruptors and they are natural and man-made chemicals that alter the regulatory system that controls your weight. Obesogens increase the amount of fat cells you have while at the same time decreasing the amount of calories you burn. In addition, they change the way your body manages hunger.

Obesogens interfere with the body’s natural hormones. Hormones are responsible for just about every function in the body, including metabolism and fat burning. Obesogens disrupt hormones by either copying their natural action or by preventing them from functioning properly.

New research studies are being conducted on the effects of obesogens on the body. To understand what obesogens are and how they are making people fat, you first need to know how these chemicals work.

Tap Water

Pesticides affect a lot more than just the insects they are designed to control. These powerful chemicals seep deep down into the soil and remain there for years.

Water Bottles and Cans

Bisphenol-A (BPA) has been shown to increase insulin resistance in animal studies and is most commonly found in the lining of cans and sports water bottles.

Non-Stick Pans

Animal studies have shown that individuals who are exposed to Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) early in life have an increased risk of developing obesity later in life.

Shower Curtains

Phthalates, the chemicals found in shower curtains and air fresheners, can lower testosterone and slow down metabolism. This can cause you to gain weight and also reduce your muscle mass.

Why You Need More Yolk

For decades, “experts” have been warning  American consumers how whole eggs are detrimental to one’s health, and egg whites are some sort of superfood. This is simply false. Furthermore, far too many cafes and diners list egg white on the healthy portion of their menus. They are unknowingly wronging their customers in this manner. But let me be clear, there is nothing inherently “wrong” about these egg whites, it is simply the portrayal by many that they are healthier than the whole egg. It is important to note that the healthiest part of the egg is actually the yolk as this is where you can find the vast majority of the egg’s nutritional value.

Bezoni EggsThe yolk section accounts for more than 9/10 of the egg’s minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants.  It actually contains 100% of the fat in the egg, and it is quite healthy and will help you balance your hormones. Furthermore, about fifty percent of the protein in the egg is actually found in the yolk, itself. The facts listed in this article are most likely news for most American consumers. Misinformation about nutrition and dieting is rampant across this nation.

The primary takeaway from this article is that, despite what most people say, you should not be avoiding egg yolks. In fact, you should be making a point to consume them as eggs are amongst the least costly forms of health-boosting & fat burning nutritional items you can find. Even the most expensive eggs in the country only cost no more than half a dollar for ten grams of proteins and countless vitamins, antioxidants, etc.

Many preach how the intake of eggs will engender an increase one’s cholesterol level. However, this is again not true as the human body is incredibly developed. If you consumer more cholesterol, you’re body will actually begin to produce less to account for this increase. Furthermore, there are a series of studies that demonstrate that eggs lead to an increase in “good” cholesterol.
